“I have three storage units full of
stuff and a lot of stuff to do. I
know it’s stuff I need and need to
do, I just can’t remember what it
is or why.”

I have ten of the same kind of socket sets, 20 plus fishing poles, and boxes of stuff that I have labeled so I can remember what’s in them. I need to get around this old man with the Purple Heart license plate going thirty miles per hour in a sixty because I have important stuff to do. I can’t hold the door open for the elderly little lady coming behind me because I am late for some important stuff. Son/daughter, I don’t have time to listen to your problem because I have a lot of important stuff at work to finish.

We wonder why we have no peace in our lives, why we are so frustrated, why people are so rude. It’s because it is all about US. I want what stuff I want, and I want my stuff right now. Someone needs to take all of us busy adults out to the alley and beat the stuff out of us!

I have heard from a reliable source that all our stuff here won’t matter in the end anyway, only the stuff we stored in Heaven will be our treasure.

Matthew 6:19-21 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven…For where your treasure is, there your heart will also be.”

“The opportunity for doing mischief is found a hundred times a day, and of doing good once in a year.”

When I was a kid and would complain about how hard something was to do, my dad would say, “If it was easy, everybody would do it.”  Maybe that is why we see so few truly dedicated Christians.

I think some people do not want to become a Christian based on the erroneous belief that it will cause them to lose their freedoms. In actuality, Christianity will give you freedom from the bondage of the enemy; but let me caution you Christianity is no walk in the park.

There are very few things easy about being a Christian, with the exception of being unconditionally loved by God; the temptation after temptation, being hated for Christ’s sake, and even being martyred, are all a reality of true service to God.

I guess Dad was right, again.

Matthew 7:13-14

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness”

How to overcome a mistake in your Christian walk:

Small Mistake

  1. Give it to God
  2. Learn from it
  3. Move on

Medium Mistake

  1. Give it to God
  2. Learn from it
  3. Move on

Huge Mistake

  1. Give it to God
  2. Learn from it
  3. Move on

If you are clever, you’ve noticed that nowhere in the Bible does it say- keep beating yourself up, whine and cry, consider yourself less than a creation of almighty God, or give up and become a slug.

Isaiah 41:10

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, I will help you,

I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

“Principles have no real force except when one is well-fed.”

                   MARK TWAIN

Good nourishment assists in the growth of bones, muscle, and psychological development. With poor nourishment comes, failures in bones, lack of muscle, and probably even some mental issues that we are not aware of.

I have heard spiritual nourishment compared as two dogs. The first dog Flesh and the second Spirit. The dog you feed the most is the one that becomes the strongest in the long run. If you spend all your wakening hours feeding Flesh and only one hour on Sunday filling Spirit, then what you have is a vicious and healthy Flesh as the Alpha dog, who will eventually tear your life to shreds. In the meantime, Spirit dwindles away to nothing, weak and unable to fight Flesh.

Which dog are you feeding today?
